The band competed at the Midlands area qualifying competition in Bedworth on Saturday 7th March and were successful in gaining 2nd place for which we are invited to the National Finals
in York in September. This is a reward for the hard work the band has put into the test piece, 'Three Haworth Impressions' and our thanks go to our wonderful conductor Chris Banks. Our principle cornet, Mark Brimble also won the prestigeous accolade for the best instrumentalist of the day. Amazing work, well done Mark!
We are also preparing our repertoire for the upcoming concert season, which we are looking forward to.

Shirebrook Miners Welfare Band produces the warm harmonious sound of a traditional British Brass Band.

WE provide fantastic 'foot tapping', 'audience participation' entertainment for our audiences through playing traditional and modern popular music such as; Marches, easy listening Overtures, West End and Broadway Musical Classics, Past and Present Chart Hits, Old and New Movie Theme Tunes as well as soloist and duet items which feature different sections of the band.

OUR expertise is not only confined to 'putting on a good show' the band have had considerable success in major competitions in recent years.

WE have had an amazing 2025 where our concerts took us all over Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire. We appeared at Chatsworth House, Bolsover Castle, Rufford Park and even Stratford Upon Avon, Warwickshire! We entertained at local churches and pubs as well as fund raising in Asda, Sutton in Ashfield.
WE love what we do and perform at a very high standard. We look forward to seeing you in 2026!
